Charity & Spirits

This year, instead of raising money for the March of Dimes, I have decided to focus on organizations within my community who are making a difference.  As many of you know, I teach severely Intellectually Disabled students who suffer from mental retardation to Autism.  These students are blessed with therapeutic services such as PT, OT, and Speech, but many are unable to access services such as therapeutic horse riding.  Hippotherapy is an age old therapy that is proven to access the brain in ways that cannot otherwise be done.
Last summer I volunteered at Panther Creek Inspiration Ranch as a part of my graduate program. Being on this ranch moved me in a way I never could have imagined, and has inspired me to pursue my new found passion for animals and how they heal our children. This year I’m asking for donations to Panther Creek Inspiration Ranch.  There is no march, no signs and no campaigns, but there is a ton of faith, a ton of heart, and a ton of God on this ranch.  The owners of this ranch built it on land that was unwanted by builders, and with horses that were unwanted by riders.
I have also put together an event to raise money and awareness for PCI Ranch.   This event will be the first ever event where we have vendors, a raffle, and a night of music and spirits, all in honor of Panther Creek Inspiration Ranch.  Since this is the first time we are having an event like this, the most important thing is to raise awareness about the ranch.

Sponsors this year are Crush Wine Bar (www.thecrushbar.com) who donated their space and offered incentives for our guest, proceeds going to PCI Ranch.  Also, The Shipping Store (3091 College Park Drive, Suite 240) donated flyers to advertise this event!

Vendors this year are Stella & Dot (www.stelladot.com/elizabeth), Arbonne (laurenkren@hotmail.com), Scentsy (wwasham@yahoo.com), Miche Bags (jo.baker@sbcglobal.net), and Vault Denim (www.vaultdenim.com/alexisstephens).

Proceeds from sales are donated to the ranch!

Our children are served in a beautiful way at this ranch, and I hope this event can be the first of many to make a difference.
